  • Vintage school teaching models of a Sunflower

Sourced from the “Deutsches Hygiene-Museum“, a medical museum in Dresden, Germany

Made in the 1960’s these original models represent the sunflower reeds and petals. They are larger than life size and were originally used to teach botanical students, aiding learning of seed distribution, the structure of the plant and its growth.

Made from a mixture of materials (plastic, fibre glass and paper mache) and painted by hand. Each is displayed on a tripod base. They come as a pair.

No longer used in schools, they now make wonderful decorative items.
