  • Lord of the rings trilogy. Tolkien edit second edition 1967

All three books are the increasingly elusive 2nd impression of the 1966 2nd editions. This was an important set as many of the corrections J.R.R. Tolkien expected in the Revised Edition were missed and so he insisted on an immediate re-printing of the 2nd edition. Hence collectors refer to them as the “Tolkien edit”.

All three volumes are in Fine condition, clean red boards, bright untarnished gilt, with unfaded top stain, clean and bright textblock. Original maps are in still in place without any extra folds or tears noted. All in all they are in beautiful condition.

There is a small neat ownership note to the front of each book in neat handwriting.
Original maps are in still in place without any extra folds or tears noted. The maps themselves are in exceptional condition.

The dust jackets are not price clipped, and are all Very good condition.
