A pair of Georgian Scottish cow horn spoons

SKU: TMIR000127
  • A pair of Georgian Scottish cow horn spoons

These items are particularly primitive in carving. They were carved from cow horns in Scotland. They were historically carved by Gypsy travellers who would de-horn cattle on farms in exchange for land for the evening and they were also allowed to keep the horns. They would then turn the horns into trinkets to sell.

The craftsmanship is fantastic. The primitive carving is charming.

They are in overall good condition for their age with a lovely. Very usable.
