    Charles-Édouard Jeanneret, known as Le Corbusier, was a Swiss-French architect, designer, painter, urban planner, writer, and one of the pioneers of what is now called modern architecture. He was born in Switzerland and became a French citizen in 1930


    This is a collection of 4 scarce books from 1950 – 1958.. All books are in very good condition and are full of fantastic visuals both of his architecture and of his illustration.


    The books include


    1) Le Corbusier “Dessins”. A short intro in French with 80 full page illustrations of his drawings and illustrations. Printed by Editions monde in Paris in 1955. Hardback with embossed titles.


    2) The Electronic Poem by Le Corbusier. Printed Paperback published by Philips, Brussels in 1958. The Electric Poem is an 8-minute piece electronic music composed by Edgard Varese written for the Philips Pavilion at 1958 Brussels world fair. The Philips corporation commissioned Le Corbusier to design the pavilion, which was intended as a showcase of their engineering progress. Le Corbusier came up with the title Poème électronique saying he wanted to create a "poem in a bottle. This book details the design work and collaboration in beautiful photographic and illustrative detail.



    3) Le Corbusier. Construction works. Paintings. Sculptures. Tapestries. The Hague, Gemeentemuseum, 1958. Shows 'le modulor' on the front cover. This is a catalog for an exhibition in Gemeentemuseum Den Haag in 1958. The text is by S. Giedion, Alfred Roth, and Le Corbusier (translation of an article from 1929). There is also an in depth bibliography and a volume of illustrations and photograpohs.


    4) Le Corbusier 1938-46. Les Edition Girsbereger Zurich. This is a scarce part of the Complete works of Le Corbusier series which concentrates on all of the work created by Le Corbusier from 1938-46. It is profusely illustrated with sketches, Architectural drawing sand photographs. It comes in its original dust jacket. Which protects tha linen embossed cover.
