  • A collection of 3 antique French Brulot or bistro cups with saucers

A nice collection of 3 antique French coffee cups called BRULÔT. They are thick white porcelain from the late 19th century. One has a beautiful blue linear decoration, one has an orange decoration and the other is orange and peach. The saucers are the original matching pair which is unusual to find.

These cups were used in the bistros to drink coffee and Cognac. You can see that it has a hollow bottom. The reason they are so thick is that the customer would set fire to the cognac in the saucer and then mix with the coffee.

    Fantastic wedding gift.
